Hi! I am Shannon Agee, "Ringleader of Creative Operations" here at Sprout.
In 2017, I took a leap of faith and opened my dream studio, leaving behind my career as a teacher in the NC public school system. My vision for Sprout was and still is based on Process Art for children, often incorporating the Reggio Emilia Approach of ART education, which is based on the image of the child.
This philosophy, combined with my desire to share the practice of yoga in a fun, nonjudgemental atmosphere, led to the idea of creating Sprout Yoga & Art for Kids.
I have dreamt of owning my own studio for as long as I can remember. I wanted to create a special space where the students feel comfortable, happy and inspired to be themselves.
I am so grateful for the community of Wrightsville Beach for welcoming me with open arms, supporting me as I fumble through the left-brained world of business ownership, website design and planning ahead! It is sometimes a struggle for this heavily right-brained gal!
For those interested in my qualifications and licensure...

Beanie and Masey, our rescue dogs....the coolest dogs on the planet!
Sprout is HAPPY to introduce our new YOGA instructor for children AND adults!... Wortley Forbes Whitehead
My name is Wortley Forbes Whitehead and I am excited about the opportunity to teach yoga at Sprout. I am a registered yoga teacher, with two other yoga trainings in Childlight Yoga and Yoga for the Classroom. Also, I am currently working on a certification in Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy. I have been teaching yoga for 10 years. My class is open to everyone, as yoga is a practice of inclusion and non-judgment. I strive to give my students a safe place where we will connect our mind, body, and spirit. Yoga has been a life saver for me, teaching me the concepts of self awareness and acceptance. I hope you will join me and we will continue to grow together.
